Oando Foundation is very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ayoade Olatunbosun-Alakija, MD., MSc. as Director of the Oando Foundation effective immediately.
Oando Foundation is an independent charity, launched by Oando Plc in 2011, one of Africa’s leading indigenous energy solutions providers. The Foundation aims to support achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals as they pertain to child protection and the educational arena.

In this new role, Dr. Alakija will provide overall visionary leadership and strategic direction to the Foundation establishing a lasting legacy for generations to come as well as management over-sight.
Dr. Olatunbosun-Alakija is a globally renowned authority on sustainable approaches to development and a thought leader in the field, lecturing around the world on social entrepreneurship. As an internationally recognised expert in highly effective, evidence-based programming, Dr. Alakija advises on health and education policy and programmes at regional and national levels in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Dr. Alakija has worked alongside many pre-eminent organisations and distinguished individuals including the United Nations (UN), Commonwealth Secretariat London, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Common Market of East and Southern African Nations (COMESA), the Office of the Presidents of a number of nations, Oil and Gas Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes and various emerging and established philanthropic organisations and not-for-profit foundations. She has also served on the board of George Washington University, African Centre for Health and Human Security (now ACHEST) in Washington D.C., U.S.A. While with the United Nations, Dr. Alakija chaired the UNAIDS technical working group in the Pacific region for a number of years.
